Drive to Arbaminch

Drive to Arbaminch through the Great Rift Valley Lakes wondering cultural and natural wilderness attractions, the worthwhile sceneries, local villages and life styles. On the way stope over at the Dorze Village of Chencha town situated 3000m above sea level with the highest peak of Guge mountain. Dorze people who are famous for their unique elephant face houses built from bamboo tree, Unique dancing, traditional weaving and the unique life style.

Drive to Jinka

Morning you will visit the ‘crocodile market on Lake Chamo. This Lake is known for its enormous population of aquatic life such as the Nile Crocodiles, Hippopotamus and different species of birds. After lunch drive to Jinka via konso. On the way you may see Benna and Tsemai tribes with their interesting dressing style, different beads and ornamentation.

Jinka – Mursi – Turmi

Early in the morning drive to visit the Mursi tribes through Mago NP where you may encounter some game animals that suddenly emerge to the road .The Mursi are known for their Patterns, lip plate earlobes and stick fighting (Donga).

Afterward, drive to Turmi, home of the Hamar tribe famous that enjoys body decoration like the other Omo area tribes and wear quantities of colorful beads and clay hair buns with Ostrich feathers, bull-jumping ceremonies and Evangadi dances. They are one of the most known and second dominant tribe in the southern Ethiopia. On the way, visit the colorful Dimeka Market (Every Tuesday/ Saturday) small village town in the districts of Hammer tribe. Late in the afternoon tour the Hammer’s villages to discover their lifestyle at home and their traditional practices. Overnight– Turmi.

In the morning, you will be heading to Korcho, home to the Karo tribe. The people have settled around the eastern bank of the Omo River. The Karo tribe is very well known for their body paintings, for beautifying purposes. From this particular village, the view of the Omo River is magnificent, the Omo River flowing down South into the Turkana Lake. Late afternoon you will drive to one of the nearest Hamer village to visit their way of life. Unique traditional dance and bull jumping ceremony would be optional and depends on the season.

Drive to Arbaminch, on the way visit Konso one of the world Heritage town. Konso, is known for its stone wall village and cultural landscape particularly their intricately terraced hillsides. They village is also known for fine woven materials, traditional wooden curved totem “waka” as a symbol of grave marks for their clan chief and warriors. Overnight Arbaminch.

Morning drive from Arbaminch to Addis Ababa en route you will visit the world heritage site of Tiya and the Stone Age archaeological site of Melka kunturie. Evening you will have fare well dinner at one of the traditional restaurant in Addis Ababa and fly back home.
